The Frozen City

The Frozen City moves quietly

Time dims in realms of thoughtlessness

Passion lingers in soft sheets of cloud

Memories blur into forgotten universe

Colors fade on streets of empty souls

Oceans whisper of decayed secrets

Wind echoes of fractured promises

And only the silence is reminiscent of the noise

We listen and notice the absence of sound

  1. Sounds like it would go well with a poem I wrote earlier today, titled “Learning to Breathe”.

I also happened across a quote that I think goes well with your poem, intending to look up something else your poem made me think of.

    Here’s the quote –

“If everyone thought before they spoke the silence would be deafening”
    – George Barzan
