Yesterday
the sky was full
of falling colors
like snow
drifting down
to fade and melt
on silent gun metal
sidewalks
like dying fireworks
bleeding into night
leaving only dreamers
to wonder in memories
of color
The black van arrives
Blended with an ancient twilight
A clotting of the night
We are strangers in the blackness
Dark angels whose names have been forgotten
Outlines blur around us
Colors obliterate in orbits of dust
We drive in mists of moonlight
In gentle, falling snow
In moments empty of air
We know we are dead
but tonight we have wings
My nightmares have
grown invasive
like a thousand parasites
with sharp metallic claws
they burry into dreams
consuming
and expanding until
there is only an endless
dark forest filled with trees
ornate with silver spikes
and black roses
whose leaves rustle
in the voices of the dead
They have grown
so wide
crammed
and tangled
the sky has drowned
in the depths of the forest
and the moon;
pierced by thornes
is red with blood
soon my life
will fester
deteriorate like the
decaying sun
of a future I will never see
and the forest will
continue to grow
plotting out the light
and grabbing at me
with gnarled, rotting hands
and transform me
into one of the skeletons
whose white and pearly
faces
weave so aimlessly
in and out of trees
Elsewhere
a girl who used to be
dreams
Elsewhere
a soul floats
softly in the places
the sun burnt holes
in the sky
Elsewhere
blood-red night
falls in shimmers
of humid lullabies
Elsewhere
the oceans
drift over the sky
and silver fish
sparkle like stars
Elsewhere
people paint
sunsets with
their minds
Elsewhere
I am no longer
falling
A bridge
suspended in the air
somewhere
in between
the sun
and the earth
A mist has risen
gathering silver
washing over
drowning faces
Transparent fish
swim beneath it
down in the forests
of the ocean
A vast city
Breathless and empty
lying forgotten
underneath the sea
A human drifting
tossing pebbles
into the water
her perspiration
like her whole body
is crying
